Three Forester Tennis Players Named to CSC Academic All-District® Teams

College Sports Communicators (CSC) announced the 2022-23 Academic All-District® Teams for tennis on Tuesday and three Lake Forest College players were listed.

To be eligible for nomination, student-athletes must be the equivalent of starters or important reserves and have competed in at least half of the team's contests. They must maintain at least a 3.50 cumulative grade point average on a 4.0 scale at their current institution and be at least a sophomore academically and athletically.

Lake Forest's honorees were junior Margaret Bugnacki from the women's team and sophomores Kyle Lassen and Daniel Tulchinskiy from the men's team.

Bugnacki captured a Midwest Conference championship at #2 singles in the fall and led the Foresters in overall victories, going 16-9 in singles and 15-11 in doubles. The business major is a two-time Academic All-MWC honoree and earned Intercollegiate Tennis Association Scholar-Athlete accolades in 2022. Bugnacki was also named her team's Most Improved Player as a freshman and Most Valuable Player her sophomore year.

Lassen was the runner-up at #5 singles and #3 doubles at the MWC Individual Tournaments this spring. A double major in biology and international relations, he went 12-10 in singles and 13-9 in doubles over the course of the season. He earned Academic All-MWC and ITA Scholar-Athlete honors last year and was this season's MWC Elite 20 Award winner for owning the highest GPA of any player at the MWC Championships.

Tulchinskiy finished second in the MWC at #2 singles this season and claimed a league title at #1 doubles as a freshman. The biology and neuroscience double major and 2022 MWC Newcomer of the Year has an overall record of 55-44 over the last two seasons. Like Bugnacki and Lassen, he was named Academic All-MWC and an ITA Scholar-Athlete last year.

Academic All-District® honorees advance to the CSC Academic All-America® ballot. First-, second- and third-team Academic All-America® honorees will be announced on June 1.
