Foresters Post Convincing Victory at Illinois Tech

The Lake Forest College women's tennis team blanked Illinois Institute of Technology 9-0 Monday night at XC Tennis Club in Chicago.

The Foresters won 96 games to the Scarlet Hawks' 12 on the night and the tally during doubles play was 24-2. Junior Margaret Bugnacki and freshman Rebecca Daskal did not drop a game at #1 while the #2 tandem of sophomore Sara Lopez and Kelsey Akins and the #3 duo of sophomore Emily Bross and freshman Unnathi Pasupuleti prevailed 8-1.

Bugnacki was the first Forester to finish in singles and she defeated Illinois Tech's top player 6-1, 6-0. The clinching point came from Lopez, who rolled 6-1, 6-2 at #2. Daskal took both sets 6-1 at #3 and Bross matched Bugnacki's score at #4. Pasupuleti earned her first collegiate victory in a 6-0, 6-1 decision at #6 and Akins closed out the contest with a 6-0, 6-2 win at #5.

Lake Forest is now 11-9 and Illinois Tech 2-9 on the year.

The Foresters will close out the season at Carthage College on Sunday. The match will begin at 10:00 a.m. and be played at Life Sport Athletic Club in Racine, Wisconsin.
