Narrow Loss for Lake Forest on Final Day in South Carolina

The Forester women's tennis team dropped a 5-4 decision to Asbury College to close out Spring Break on Friday.

Lake Forest took two of the three doubles matches to begin the day. Sophomore Sara Lopez and freshman Libby Moog posted an 8-5 victory at #2 and, after Asbury earned the point at #1, junior Margaret Bugnacki and freshman Rebecca Daskal finished doubling up the Eagle's top tandem 8-4 at the top of the lineup.

Lopez rolled 6-2, 6-4 at #2 singles and Moog added an even more convincing 6-3, 6-1 triumph at #3. Lake Forest had several chances to clinch the match but were defeated in third set super tiebreakers at three other positions and Asbury came out victorious.

The Foresters fell to 10-9 on the season while Asbury evened its record at 3-3.

After returning home from the trip, Lake Forest will travel to XC Athletic Club in Chicago on Monday to tke on Illinois Institute of Technology at 8:00 p.m.
