The Lake Forest College women's tennis team was defeated 8-1 by the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire at the Racquet Club of Lake Bluff on Sunday.

The Foresters' lone point of the match came at #3 singles, where freshman Rebecca Daskal won the first set 6-3 before dropping the second 6-2. She came out on top 10-6 in the third set super tiebreaker to improve to 8-5 in singles this season.

The final match to finish was #1 singles and it was easily the closest of the day. Lake Forest junior Margaret Bugnacki was edged out 7-4 in the first set tiebreaker and 7-5 in the second.

Sunday's contest was the final home match of the season for the Foresters and Kelsey Akins, the team's lone senior, was honored in a brief ceremony between doubles and singles play.

Lake Forest fell to 9-6 while Eau Claire improved to 7-2.

The Foresters next four matches will be played in Hilton Head, South Carolina, during the team's Spring Break trip the week of March 13-17.
