The Lake Forest College women's tennis team traveled to the two southernmost schools in the Midwest Conference on Saturday and returned with a pair of 9-0 victories.

The closest match in each contest was #3 doubles, where sophomore Isa Hinojosa and senior Kelsey Akins prevailed 8-5 at Monmouth in the morning. It was the first collegiate victory for Akins, who played for the Forester volleyball team each of the last two years. Hinajosa teamed up with freshman Maggie Fields in the afternoon and came out on top 8-6.

Lake Forest was dominant in singles at Monmouth, winning 72 of 75 games. Fields and Hinojosa won 6-0, 6-0 at #5 and #6, respectively, and junior Margaret Bugnacki matched that score at #2.

Bugnacki was nearly perfect at Illinois College, posting an 8-1 victory with junior Maria Jose Campos at #1 doubles and blanking her counterpart in singles 6-0, 6-0.

Freshman Libby Moog and sophomore Sara Lopez joined Campos, Bugnacki, and Fields with perfect 4-0 performances on the day.

The Foresters evened their overall record at 4-4 and improved to 3-1 in MWC play. They will host Milwaukee School of Engineering in a non-conference match Wednesday at 4:00 p.m.
