Lake Forest Drop 5-4 Decision to Methodist

The Forester women's tennis team began its spring break trip to Hilton Head, South Carolina, with a narrow 5-4 loss to Methodist University on Monday.

Methodist took two of the three doubles matches with the lone Lake Forest point coming from an 8-2 victory by sophomore Margaret Bugnacki and junior Natalia Leite at #2.

The Monarchs increased their lead with a win at #5 but Leite triumphed 6-3, 6-2 at #4 and sophomore Maria Jose Campos edged out Methodist's top play 4-6, 6-4, (10-6) to tie the team score. After falling at #6, the Foresters pulled even again on Bugnacki's 7-5, 6-2 victory at #2. The Monarchs finished off the match with a third set tiebreaker win at #3.

Lake Forest is now 8-6 on the year while Methodist improved to 2-4.

The Forester will take on Pfeiffer University Tuesday at 12:30 p.m. (ET).
