Five Individual Foresters and the Team Earn ITA Academic Awards

The Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) announced its 2021 All-Academic Teams and Scholar-Athletes on Wednesday. Lake Forest College had five players named All-America Scholar-Athletes and the Foresters were recognized as an ITA All-Academic Team for the fifth year in a row.

This year 605 Division III women were named ITA Scholar-Athletes and 144 women's tennis programs were awarded the All-Academic Team distinction.

To be named an ITA Scholar-Athlete, a player must (1) have a grade point average of at least 3.5 (on a 4.00 scale) for the current academic year and (2) be listed on the institutional eligibility form. To be named an ITA All-Academic Team, programs must have a team grade point average of 3.2 or above (on a 4.00 scale) with all student-athletes listed on the institutional eligibility form and all varsity letter winners factoring into the cumulative team GPA for the current academic year.

Forester senior Julie Lord is now a four-time honoree while classmate Tyranny Miller earned her third award. Seniors Emma Wang and Grace Gould and sophomore Natalia Leite made the list for the second time.
