Lake Forest Defeats St. Norbert on Senior Day

The Forester women's tennis team posted an 8-1 victory over visiting St. Norbert College 8-1 on Sunday.

Lake Forest's three doubles teams combined to drop just one game. Shortly after being honored before their Senior Day match, Julie Lord and Tyranny Miller blanked the Green Knights' top tandem 8-0 while fellow senior Emma Wang teamed up with freshman Margaret Bugnacki on another 8-0 triumph at #2. Freshman MJ Campos and sophomore Natalia Leite added an 8-1 win at #3.

The seniors were the first to finish in singles. Lord rolled to a 6-0, 6-0 victory at #1, Miller prevailed 6-4, 6-0 at #4 to clinch the match for the Foresters, and Wang took both sets 6-2 and #3. Bugnacki matched Lord perfect score at #5 and Leite finished off the contest with a 6-1, 6-2 win at #6.

It was Lake Forest's second Midwest Conference victory in as many league matches and the team improved to 4-1 overall. St. Norbert fell to 2-4 overall and 1-1 in the conference.

The Foresters will host Cornell College next Saturday at 1:00 before closing out the regular season at St. Norbert on Sunday.
