Lake Forest Defeats LeTourneau in Hilton Head

The Foresters improved to 13-3 on the year Wednesday with a 7-2 triumph over LeTourneau University during the team's Spring Break trip to Hilton Head, South Carolina.

Lake Forest began the match by sweeping the Yellowjackets in doubles. Junior Julie Lord and senior Leeza Bodnar doubled up their counterparts 8-4 at the top spot in the lineup while sophomore Tebatso Duba and junior Tyranny Miller prevailed 8-5 at #2 and junior Emma Wang and sophomore Katie Wegrecki came out on top 8-2 at #3.

Duba was the first to finish in singles, knocking off the #2 player from LeTourneau 6-2, 6-3. After dropping points on third set super tiebreakers at #1 and #3, the Foresters clinched the victory when Wang finished off a 6-2, 6-0 win at #4. Freshman Natalia Leite did not drop a game at #6 and Miller closed out the contest with a 6-1, 6-2 victory at #5.

The loss dropped LeTourneau's record to 1-9.

Lake Forest will play a pair of matches on Friday, the first against Berry College at 8:30 a.m. (ET). The Foresters will then close out the trip against Haverford College at 4:30 p.m.
