Foresters Start Fast before Falling at Kalamazoo

Junior Tyranny Miller won both of her matches but Lake Forest was defeated 6-3 at Kalamazoo College on Saturday.

Miller and sophomore Tebatso Duba posted an 8-4 victory at #2 doubles, giving the visitors a 2-1 lead going into singles play. Lake Forest had also earned the point at #1, where junior Julie Lord and senior Leeza Bodnar also prevailed 8-4.

The Hornets took over in singles, winning at the top four spots in the lineup to clinch the match. Miller prevented the sweep with a 6-3, 6-4 triumph at #5.

It was the first match of the spring semester for the Foresters, who are now 1-3 on the year. Kalamazoo improved to 1-3.

Lake Forest's next four matches will be played in Hilton Head, South Carolina, over Spring Break. The Foresters will begin the trip against Millikin University at 8:30 (EST) in the morning on Monday, March 9.
