Julie Lord Named MWC Performer of the Week

Lake Forest College tennis player Julie Lord was named Midwest Conference Performer of the Week on Tuesday for her performance in Saturday's match at University of Wisconsin-Whitewater.

Lord was at least partly responsible for both of the Foresters' points in the 7-2 loss. She and senior Leeza Bodnar began the afternoon by edging out the Warhawks' top doubles team 8-6 for their 14th victory in 16 matches this season. The duo recently became the program's all-time leaders in career wins by a doubles team and raised that school record total to 52 on Saturday.

Lake Forest drew even at 2-2 when Lord finished off a convincing 6-0, 6-2 triumph at #1 singles. The junior leads the team with a 13-2 record in singles on the year.

As an individual, Lord ranks fifth in program history with 108 overall victories and 53 singles wins and sixth with 55 triumphs in doubles.

MWC Performers of the Week are selected by the league office. Lord also earned the award once during the fall of 2017 and again earlier this season.
