Leeza Bodnar Named Forester Athlete of the Week

Lake Forest College tennis player Leeza Bodnar was named Forester Athlete of the Week on Thursday after helping her team post a trio of 9-0 victories over the weekend.

Bodnar, the only senior on the squad, prevailed in each of her three matches at #3 singles, winning 36 of 45 games along the way. She also teamed up with junior Julie Lord to defeated the top doubles team from Ripon College 8-0, St. Norbert College 8-2, and Lawrence University 8-7 (7-3). The victory over Ripon Saturday morning was the tandem's 49th over the last two-and-a-half seasons together, breaking the previous program record set by Allison Watts and current junior Tyranny Miller last year.

With a 23-6 record in singles and doubles combined so far this season, Bodnar has raised her career win total to 121 and ranks fourth in team history in that category.

Forester Athletes of the Week are selected by the Athletic Department on Thursdays. Bodnar also earned the award once as a sophomore in 2017-18.
