Allison Watts Named Forester Athlete of the Week

Lake Forest College senior tennis player Allison Watts was named Forester Athlete of the Week on Thursday after winning all four of her matches and becoming the team leader in career victories.

Watts entered Friday night's 8-1 triumph over visiting Kalamazoo College, the 18th-ranked team in the Central Region, tied with 2016 graduate and former teammate Christi Valicenti atop the program's career wins list with 157. She and sophomore Tyranny Miller defeated the Hornets #2 doubles team 8-5 to give Watts sole ownership of the record. She also came out on top of a 6-2, 6-1 decision at #2 singles later in the evening.

The Foresters hosted and swept Edgewood College 9-0 on Saturday and Watts added to her total by teaming up with Miller again for an 8-1 victory in doubles and taking both sets 6-3 in singles.

Watts improved to 75-34 in singles and 86-29 in doubles for her career. In addition to setting her team's overall victory record, she ranks first in doubles wins and enters this Thursday's Midwest Conference Tournament tied-for-first in singles triumphs.

Forester Athletes of the Week are selected by the Athletic Department on Thursdays. Watts also earned the award on September 20 and once during her junior year.
