Freshman Katie Wegrecki now owns the third-longest singles winning streak in program history at 13 matches after topping the #6 player from Carthage College in Lake Forest's 6-3 victory on Monday.

The Foresters started the contest by taking two of the three doubles matches. Sophomore Emma Wang and freshman Tebatso Duba came out on top of an 8-3 decision at #3 just before senior Allison Watts and sophomore Tyranny Miller finished off an 8-4 triumph at #2. The doubles victory was the 83rd in Watts' career, breaking a tie with Christi Valicenti for the most in team history.

Singles play started with a 6-0, 6-2 win for Forester junior Leeza Bodnar at #4 and Duba defeated her opponent 6-1, 6-0 at #3. Wang then clinched the match for the Foresters and extended her singles winning streak to 23 matches with a 6-0, 6-1 victory at #5. Wegrecki's 7-5, 6-4 final was sandwiched between Carthage points at the top two spots in the lineup.

Lake Forest is now 16-3 and Carthage 9-7 on the year.

The Foresters will take on their fourth consecutive College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin opponent on Thursday when the team travels to Wheaton College. Lake Forest is ranked 17th and Wheaton 14th in the Central Region.
