Senior Allison Watts and sophomore Tyranny Miller won at #2 doubles but the Foresters were defeated 7-1 by Berry College in South Carolina on Tuesday. The match was played at Hilton Head High School.

Watts and Miller prevailed 8-2 and have now won a dozen consecutive matches and 26 of their last 27 contests as doubles partners. The owners of the program record for career victories by a doubles tandem are now 19-1 on the season and 40-6 since Miller joined Watts on the team last year.

The other two doubles matches went to tiebreakers but sophomore Julie Lord and junior Leeza Bodnar were defeated 7-1 for the final game at #1 and sophomores Emma Wang and Grace Gould were edged out 9-7 at #3. The loss for Wang and Gould was their first of the year and ended their team record 15-match winning streak.

All six Lake Forest singles players won at least one game in each set but the Vikings prevailed at the top four spots in the lineup. Matches at #5 and #6 were unfinished.

The loss was the Foresters' first in their 15th contest of 2018-19. Berry improved to 2-0.

Lake Forest will have a day off from competition on Wednesday before closing out its Spring Break trip against Georgetown College Thursday at noon at the Shipyard Racquet Club in Hilton Head, South Carolina.
