Lake Forest College women's tennis player Allison Watts was selected as the Midwest Conference Performer of the Week on Tuesday after helping lead her team to a pair of victories on Saturday over teams that were previously unbeaten in league play.

Watts, a senior, began the day by teaming with sophomore Tyranny Miller on an 8-1 win at #2 doubles against Cornell College. She was also the first to finish in doubles, defeating the Rams' #2 player 6-0, 6-3. The Foresters went on to win the match 8-1.

Lake Forest hosted and defeated Grinnell College 6-3 Saturday evening and Watts was again victorious in both doubles and singles. She and Miller came out on top of an 8-6 decision at #2 as the home team swept the doubles competition. After the Foresters added a point at #4 singles, Watts clinched the match with a 6-1, 7-6 (7-2) triumph at #2 singles.

Cornell, Grinnell, and Lake Forest entered the day with identical 3-0 records in conference play. Grinnell came in with a 24-match conference winning streak, which dated back to October of 2015.

Watts is now 13-0 in singles and doubles combined this season. Her 62 career singles wins are the second-most in program history while her 68 doubles victories and 130 triumphs overall rank third.

MWC Performers of the Week are selected by the league office. Watts also earned the award once in each of the last two years.
