Senior Allison Watts was 4-0 on the Saturday as the Lake Forest College women's tennis team blanked visiting Illinois College and Knox College by the same 9-0 score.

Watts and sophomore Tyranny Miller posted the home team's first victory of the day when they outscored the #2 doubles team from Illinois College 8-1. Sophomore Julie Lord and junior Leeza Bodnar then finished off an 8-0 blanking of the Lady Blues' top tandem and, since the visitors had just five players, Lake Forest also took the point at #3 by forfeit.

With another forfeit at #6 singles, Lord's 6-0, 6-3 victory at #1 clinched the match for the Foresters. Bodnar prevailed 6-1, 6-1 at #3 and Watts took both sets 6-1 at #2. Sophomore Emma Wang won 6-2, 6-3 at #4 and Miller finished off the contest by shutting out her opponent 6-0, 6-0 at #5.

Knox also arrived with just five healthy players. Wang teamed up with sophomore Grace Gould on an 8-3 triumph at #2 doubles and Watts and Miller matched that score at #1.

The match-clinching point in singles came from freshman Katie Wegrecki at #5, where she did not drop a game. Bodnar and Wang also won 6-0, 6-0 at #3 and #4, respectively, and Lord topped the Prairie Fire's top player 6-1, 6-2. Watts closed out the day with another 6-1, 6-1 victory at #2.

The Foresters are now 4-0 overall this season and 2-0 in Midwest Conference play. Illinois College left for an afternoon match at Beloit College with a 1-3 overall record and a mark of 0-1 in league play. Knox fell at Beloit earlier in the day and is now 0-4 overall and 0-2 in the conference.

Lake Forest will continue MWC play against Monmouth College on Sunday. The match is scheduled to begin at 9:00 a.m.
