Victory at Elmhurst is Program Record 18th for the Foresters

Freshman Julie Lord posted a pair of convincing victories at the top of the lineup to help lead the Lake Forest College women's tennis team to a 7-2 triumph at Elmhurst College on Saturday.

Lord and sophomore Leeza Bodar defeated the Bluejays' top doubles team 8-1 as the Foresters swept the doubles matches. Junior Allison Watts and freshman Tyranny Miller posted an 8-5 victory at #2 and sophomore Emma Wang teamed with freshman Grace Gould on an 8-3 win at #3.

Lake Forest earned points at the top two and bottom two spots in the singles lineup. Lord prevailed 6-3, 6-0 at #1 and Gould won by the same score at #5. Watts took both sets 6-2 at #2 and Miller did not drop a game at #6.

The Foresters improved to 18-2 this season and surpassed the previous program record for victories set by the 2013-14 team. Elmhurst fell to 5-11.

Lake Forest will host Judson University next Friday afternoon at 4:00.
