Junior Allison Watts did not drop a game on the day as the Lake Forest College women's tennis team defeated host Principia College and Greenville University by the same 7-2 score on Saturday.

Watts and freshman Grace Gould defeated their #2 doubles counterparts from Principia 8-0 to start the day. Freshman Julie Lord and sophomore Leeza Bodnar won 8-1 at #1 and the Foresters, who had just five players available for the match, forfeited the point at #3.

Lord was the first to finish in singles and she blanked her opponent 6-0, 6-0 at the top of the lineup. Sophomore Emma Wang won her Lake Forest debut by the same score at #4, as did Watts to clinch the match at #2. Bodnar lost just one game in a 6-1, 6-0 victory at #3 and Gould closed out the match with another 6-0, 6-0 triumph at #5.

The doubles scores were exactly the same in the Foresters' victory over Greenville and, with the same lineup, the results in singles play were similar. In order, Lord, Watts, and Wang closed out their opponents without dropping a game. Bodnar took both sets 6-2 at #3 and Gould prevailed 6-0, 6-1 at #5.

It was the first match of the spring for Lake Forest, which improved to 16-1 overall in 2017-18. The team has now won a dozen matches in a row, tying the second-longest run in program history. Principia fell to 0-2 and it was the first match of the year for Greenville.

The Foresters' next five matches will be played in California March 13-16 during the team's Spring Break trip.
