Victory at Illinois College is Foresters' 10th in a Row

Junior Allison Watts did not drop a game in singles play as the Lake Forest College women's tennis team won 9-0 at Illinois College on Sunday.

Watts and freshman Julie Lord won 8-3 at the top of the doubles lineup while freshmen Tyranny Miller and Grace Gould prevailed 8-1 at #2 and sophomores Samantha Russell and Sara Grosse triumphed 8-4 at #3.

Lord rolled to a 6-0, 6-1 victory at #1 singles and Watts clinched the match for the Foresters after blanking her opponent 6-0, 6-0 at #2. Miller won 6-1, 6-2 at #3 and Russell took the first set 6-0 and the second 6-1 at #5. Grosse matched Watts' perfect score at #6 and Gould closed out the contest with a 6-1, 6-4 triumph at #4.

Lake Forest finished its fall semester dual match schedule with 10 consecutive victories and a 14-1 overall record and 8-1 mark in Midwest Conference play. Illinois College fell to 5-9 overall and 2-7 in the league.

The Foresters, who will be the #2 seed in the four-team MWC Tournament on April 26, will close out the fall at the MWC Individual Tournaments in Madison, Wisconsin, next weekend.
