Tyranny Miller was one of two freshmen to go 4-0 on the day as the Lake Forest College women's tennis team defeated Illinois Institute of Technology 6-3 and Aurora University 9-0 at home on Sunday.

Miller and junior Allison Watts gave the home team the lead over Illinois Tech after posting an 8-3 victory at #2 doubles. The Scarlet Hawks had taken the point at #1 but Forester freshman Grace Gould and sophomore Sara Grosse prevailed 8-1 at #3.

Sophomore Samantha Russell extended the home team's lead with a 6-1, 6-0 win at #6 singles and Miller made the score 4-1 after taking both sets 6-1 at #4. A 6-2, 6-0 triumph by sophomore Leeza Bodnar at #2 clinched the match for the Foresters and, after two more Illinois Tech points, Gould closed out the contest with a 6-3, 3-6, (10-2) victory at #5.

The lineup was the same for the Foresters against Aurora. Freshman Julie Lord and Bodnar came out on top of an 8-3 decision at the top spot in the doubles lineup while the other two Lake Forest teams rolled to 8-1 victories.

Watts and Russell did not lose a game in singles while three teammates dropped just one game apiece, Bodnar and Gould in the first set and Miller in the second. Lord worked a little harder in a 6-1, 6-3 triumph at #1.

The Foresters have now won seven straight matches and are 11-1 this fall. Illinois Tech, which defeated Aurora 7-2 later in the day, is now 6-3 on the year and Aurora 1-12.

Lake Forest will complete the Midwest Conference portion of the schedule on the road next weekend. The Foresters will play at Knox College Saturday morning at 9:00 and Monmouth College at 3:00 that afternoon. The team will then take on Illinois College Sunday at 1:00 p.m.
