Julie Lord Named MWC Performer of the Week

Lake Forest College women's tennis player Julie Lord was named Midwest Conference Performer of the Week on Tuesday after posting six convincing victories in singles and doubles play over the weekend.

Lord, a freshman who plays at the top spot in the doubles and singles lineups, helped lead the Foresters to conference wins over Lawrence University and Ripon College on Saturday and St. Norbert College on Sunday. She and doubles partner Leeza Bodnar did not lose a game on the weekend, taking each of their matches 8-0. Lord was also dominating in singles play on Saturday, posting a 6-0, 6-1 victory over the top player from Lawrence and blanking Ripon's best 6-0, 6-0. She added a 6-0, 6-4 triumph on Sunday.

The perfect 6-0 record on the weekend improved Lord's marks on the season in both singles and doubles play to 6-3 overall and 5-1 in the league.
