Lake Forest College women's tennis player Grace Gould was named Forester Athlete of the Week on Thursday after helping lead the team to a pair of victories to open the season on Saturday.
Gould, a freshman, was 4-0 on Saturday in her first collegiate competition. She and doubles teammate Samantha Russell defeated the #3 team from the University of Dubuque 8-5 and Gould added a 6-1, 6-1 triumph at #5 singles in the Foresters' 7-2 triumph.
Gould and Russell teamed up for an 8-2 victory at #1 doubles against Concordia University Chicago and Gould also moved to the top of the lineup in singles, where she did not drop a game. Lake Forest took the match 8-1.
Forester Athletes of the Week are selected by the Athletic Department on Thursdays.
