The Forester women's tennis team was defeated 7-2 by Oglethorpe University and 9-0 by Seton Hill University in Orlando, Florida, on Wednesday. Lake Forest junior Grace Dowling contributed to both of the team's points against Oglethorpe.

Dowling and fellow junior Christi Valicenti defeated the Stormy Petrels' top doubles team 8-4 but the Foresters still trailed Oglethorpe 2-1 going into singles play.

Losses at #1 and #3 singles left Lake Forest a point away from being defeated, something Dowling delayed with a 6-1, 6-2 triumph at #2. Oglethorpe, however, clinched the victory with wins at the bottom three spots in the singles lineup.

Valicenti and Dowling came close to winning again against Seton Hill but were edged out 9-7. Valicenti also suffered a narrow loss at #1 singles, where she was edged out 6-1, 6-7 (9-11), (10-4).

The Foresters are now 1-3 on the trip and 11-7 for the year. Oglethorpe and Seton Hill improved to 4-7 and 5-4, respectively.

Lake Forest will close out its Spring Break schedule against Oneonta State University Thursday at 4:00 p.m. (EST). The match will be played at the Orlando Tennis Center.
