The Forester women's tennis team defeated visiting Carroll University 6-3 on Wednesday, thanks in part to a pair of convincing victories by Lake Forest junior Grace Dowling.

Dowling and senior Gracie Mullins gave the home team the early lead with an 8-1 win at #2 doubles. Carroll earned a point at #1 doubles but the Foresters regained the advantage when junior Emily Rabin and sophomore Zoe Maurer finished off an 8-6 triumph at #3.

Dowling was also the first to finish in singles, defeating her counterpart at #2 singles 6-0, 6-1. Sophomore Lexi Chionis did not lose a game during her 6-0, 6-0 win at #3 and Mullins took both sets 6-1 at #4 to clinch the victory for Lake Forest. Rabin added an additional point, coming out on top of a 6-4, 6-2 decision at #6.

The Forester are now 7-2 overall and 4-1 in Midwest Conference play this season. The Pioneers fell to 4-6 overall and 1-3 in the league.

Lake Forest will not play against until the weekend of October 4-5, when they will host Illinois College at 8:30 a.m. and Monmouth College at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday and Knox College Sunday morning at 10:00.
