Lake Forest Wins 9-0 at Beloit, Raises Record to 3-0

The Forester women's tennis prevailed 9-0 at Beloit College on Wednesday. Sophomore Christi Valicenti was one of four Lake Forest players to win twice during the match.

Valicenti and fellow sophomore Sarah Paulson posted an 8-3 victory at #1 doubles while sophomore Grace Dowling and junior Gracie Mullins won 8-4 at #2 and senior Aimee Fadden was teaming up with freshman Marisa Guggenheim for an 8-2 triumph at #3.

Paulson dropped just one game in a 6-1, 6-0 victory at #1 singles and Guggenheim was even closer to perfect in a 6-0, 6-0 rout at #5, clinching the win for the Foresters. Valicenti prevailed 6-1, 6-4 at #2 and freshman Lexi Chionis recorded a 6-4, 6-2 victory at #4. Senior Elina Shapiro won both sets 6-1 at #6 and Dowling took both sets 6-3 at #3 to close out the match.

Lake Forest is now 3-0 on the season while the Buccaneers fell to 3-3.

The Foresters will host North Central College at 8:30 Saturday morning and Ripon College at 3:30 that afternoon.
