Lake Forest Defeats Wisconsin Lutheran College 8-0

The Forester women's tennis team won its fifth match in a row Thursday, blanking visiting Wisconsin Lutheran College 8-0. Lake Forest freshman Grace Dowling is now 10-0 this season in singles and doubles play combined.

Dowling and sophomore Gracie Mullins started off the contest with an 8-1 victory at #3 doubles. Junior Aimee Fadden and sophomore Lucy Cooper won 9-7 at #2 and senior Melika Celebic teamed with freshman Christi Valicenti for an 8-5 triumph at #1.

Mullins was the first to finish in singles after defeating her opponent at #5 without losing a game. Dowling prevailed 6-1, 6-1 at #3 and Valicenti posted a 6-0, 6-1 victory to remain undefeated on the year at #2. Freshman Emily Rabin made her debut in the Forester lineup at #6, where she won 6-4, 6-1. Celebic also stayed perfect in singles play this season, topping the Warriors #1 player 6-1 in both sets. Fadden led 6-2, 2-2 at #4 when darkness ended the match.

Wisconsin Lutheran fell to 3-2 on the season.

The Foresters will begin Midwest Conference South Division play at home on Saturday when they host Cornell College at 9:00 a.m. and Illinois College at 3:00 in the afternoon.
