Shorthanded Foresters Fall at Beloit

The Lake Forest College women's tennis team dropped an 8-1 decision at Beloit College on Thursday. Freshman Gracie Mullins earned the Foresters' lone team point with a victory at #2 singles.

Mullins and sophomore Aimee Fadden battled the top doubles team from Beloit but fell 8-6. The Foresters, who were missing two regulars from their lineup, were also defeated at the other two doubles positions.

The Buccaneers also took five of the six singles matches. Mullins lost the first set 6-4 but rebounded to take the second 6-2 and closed out the victory with a 10-4 triumph in the third set super-tiebreak.

Lake Forest fell to 2-4 on the season while Beloit raised its record to 7-1.

The Foresters will play against Cornell College at 12:30 p.m. and host Augustana College at 4:30 on Saturday before beginning Midwest Conference South Division play against Grinnell College on Sunday. That match will begin at 11:00 a.m. and will be played at Davenport Assumption High School.
