Richard Drake

Richard Drake joined the Forester women's soccer staff in 2016 as goalkeeper coach.

Lake Forest posted a 10-7-2 overall record and 6-2-1 mark in Midwest Conference play during Drake's first season with the program. Forester goalkeepers held six opponents scoreless and limited five others to a single goal. The team ranked fourth in the MWC in goals against average during league play. 

Drake served as the head coach at Alverno College in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, in 2015 and has helped lead teams to a 146-126-18 record, five conference championships, and six NCAA Tournament appearances in 14 years as a head or assistant coach at the collegiate level. The last six of those seasons were spent at Loyola University Chicago, which claimed a Horizon League championships and made a pair of NCAA Division I Tournament appearances with Drake on staff. he also spent time at DePaul University, Marshall University, the University of Minnesota, the University of Cincinnati, and Lincoln College.

Drake's extensive experience at the club level includes his current role as Director of Goalkeeping and Staff Coach for the Greater Libertyville Soccer Association, a position he has held since 2013. He has also worked with several other clubs in various roles since 2000.

A 1996 graduate and student-athlete at Aurora University, Drake continued his playing career in the professional ranks for seven years on a number of teams, including the Rockford Raptors, Cincinnati Silverbacks, Minnesota Thunder, Rockford Thunder, and Northern Illinois Rebels.

Drake holds a United States Soccer Federation "A" coaching license and referee license, a National Soccer Coaches Association of America premier diploma, advanced national goalkeeping diploma, national youth diploma and director of coaching diploma.

Drake resides in Chicago.
