Senior goalkeeper Maggie Kersting set the school record for most career shutouts and most shutouts in a single season as the Lake Forest women's soccer team claimed a 4-0 victory over visiting Knox College on Saturday.

With her clean sheet, Kersting now has 19 shutouts for her career and earned her ninth shutout of the season, including earning one in each of the team's seven conference games. She had one save during today's match.

Senior Raven Dziedzinski scored the first Forester goal--and what would be the game winner--in the 16th minute of play. Fellow senior Alyssa Xanos took a corner kick and got the ball right in front of Dziedzinski, who arched the ball high over a Knox defender and into the goal.

The Foresters scored again with just 1:24 remaining on the clock in the half. During a press towards the goal, the Foresters passed to freshman Anna Hoffman, who stood open on the far side of the field. From there, Hoffman completed a long pass to fellow freshman Lauren Covarrubias, who received the ball and made a quick shot, which sailed passed the goalkeeper and into the back of the net. It was Covarrubias's first goal of the season and her first goal as a Forester.

The third and fourth Lake Forest goals came in the last 45 minutes of play. The first goal of the second half was scored by senior Hiwa Brown in the 59th minute of play; Xanos earned her second assist on the day. Hoffman added a goal to her stat sheet when she scored the Foresters' final goal of the game; she was assisted by sophomore Theresa Presberg.

Lake Forest plays at Grinnell College on Saturday, October 29 at 1:30 p.m. for the final game of the regular season. The winner of the game will claim the Midwest Conference Title.
