Foresters Victorious Against Illinois College

Freshman Anna Gracia earned her seventh goal of the season in the Lake Forest women's soccer team's victory against Illinois College on Saturday. The Foresters shut out the Lady Blues 2-0.

Gracia's goal (and what would be the game-winning) came in the third minute of the game. Senior Paityn Tabor received the ball on a Forester throw in and was able to spin around a defender to retain possession. Her pass went halfway across the field to Gracia, who stood in front of the net and easily got the ball past the diving IC goalkeeper.

Junior Ella Manthey scored her second goal of the season and insured the Foresters' victory with the clock at 27:08.

The Foresters out-shot the Lady Blues 21-4 with 14 of the Foresters' shots being on goal. Senior goalkeeper Maggie Kersting kept the Lady Blues scoreless the entire 90 minutes of play; her career total shut out tally now stands at 17, which is one shy of tying the current team record.

Lake Forest will play again at home on Mohr Field on Monday, October 10 at 4:30 p.m. against North Park University.
