Foresters Tie Raiders 1-1

Despite letting up a goal late in the first half, the Lake Forest women's soccer team was able to battle back and even the score with less than three minutes remaining in their match against Milwaukee School of Engineering on Wednesday. The final tally was 1-1.

In the final minutes of the game, after a throw in from MSOE down by the Forester net, senior goalkeeper Maggie Kersting captured the ball and then sent it sailing down to MSOE's side of the field. Graduate student Hiwa Brown got the ball to senior Raven Dziedzinski, who passed it up the field to senior Alyssa Xanos. Xanos brought the ball just outside the box and kicked an arching shot over the MSOE's goalie into the left side of the net to tie up the game.

When time ran out, the Raiders had out shot the Foresters 11-7; Kersting made 9 saves on the day.

Lake Forest's record now stands at 2-1-1. They'll travel to Chicago to face Illinois Institute of Technology on Saturday, September 10 at 1:00 p.m.
