Season Comes to Abrupt End at MWC Tournament

The Forester women's soccer team was defeated 1-0 by Beloit College on Friday in the semifinals of the 2021 Midwest Conference Tournament.

Knox College is hosting the tournament and the game was played at nearby Galesburg High School.

The only goal was scored with just 4:41 remaining in the contest.

The Foresters and Buccaneers combined for just eight shot attempts with each team putting three shots on goal in the hard-fought game. The regular season meeting between them ended in a scoreless tie.

Lake Forest finished the season with an overall record of 9-7-1 while Beloit advances to Saturday's tournament final at 8-4-5.

Forester junior midfielder Paityn Tabor was recognized as the league's Elite 20 Award recipient before the game. The MWC Elite 20 Award is presented to the student-athlete at the conference championships with the highest cumulative grade point average.
