Lake Forest Taken Down by Dubuque

It was a beautiful Midwestern fall day as Lake Forest women's soccer took the pitch against University of Dubuque. The Spartans came away victorious 1-0.

The Foresters were aggressive with their offensive attack and were able to out-shoot the Spartans 11-7 with eight of them being on target, but were unable to find a way through Dubuque's goaltender. Junior Alyssa Xanos led the team in shots and shots on goal with six and five, respectively. 

Additionally, they held their opponents to just three shots in the second half. Forester goalkeeper Maggie Kersting had five saves in the game; the Spartans' had eight.

The Foresters and Spartans shared possession of the ball an even 50/50 split.

The only goal of the game came late in first half off a corner kick for the Spartans.

With the loss Saturday, Lake Forest's record is now 3-4. University of Dubuque raises their record to 4-2.

The Foresters play in front of their home crowd again on Saturday, September 25 at 11:00 AM.
