An early goal in the 12th minute was all Lake Forest College women's soccer needed to overcome Wisconsin Lutheran College on Tuesday.

The game winning goal was scored by junior Iman Shepard. Fellow junior Raven Dziedzinski broke away from the defenders to get it close to the goal where it was popped into the air by a defender, and Shepard headed it into the net.

Junior Hannah Steffey scored her first career goal off an assist by Madeline Moser. Steffey and Moser passed the ball back and forth as they took it down the field, and Steffey hit it hard into the net for the score.

The last two Forester goals were scored by junior Alyssa Xanos, the first within the last five minutes of the opening half and the second in the 57th minute of play. Sophomore Ashley Birnesser and Dziedzinski were credited with the respective assists.

The Foresters out-shot the Warriors 11-8, and senior Maggie Kersting made six saves on the day. With the win, they bring their record to 3-1.

Lake Forest travels to Milwaukee School of Engineering on Thursday. Play begins at 7:00 p.m..
