The Forester women's soccer team had a two-goal lead and faced a two-goal deficit before leaving Ripon College with a 44 tie on Saturday.

Lake Forest junior Julia Larson contributed to three of the visitors four goals. She took a pass from sophomore Hannah Steffey, turned and played the ball up to sophomore Iman Shepard, who blasted it in from 15 yards out less than five minutes into the contest.

Larson doubled the Forester lead at the 22:29 mark, taking a through ball from sophomore Alyssa Xanos in stride, side-stepping the goalie and hitting the open net.

Ripon finally got on the scoreboard at the 36:47 mark and then tied the score three-and-a-half minutes into the second half. The home team took the lead at 71:50 and added a fourth tally at 74:10.

Sophomore Raven Dziedzinski converted a breakaway opportunity two minutes later to pull the Foresters to within one and Larson scored the game's fourth goal in a seven-minute span at 78:50. Freshman Kate Giere earned her first career assist when her cross from the left side of the field slipped past the goalkeeper and Larson tapped it in for her team-high-tying seventh score of the season.

Lake Forest freshman goalie Aarti Singh made a dozen saves in the contest, including three during the two scoreless 10-minute overtime periods.

The Foresters are now 3-0-1 and Ripon 1-2-1 this spring.

Lake Forest will host Milwaukee School of Engineering on Farwell Field Wednesday afternoon at 4:30.
