Freshman Raven Dziedzinski had a goal and an assist Saturday as Lake Forest prevailed 3-0 at Lawrence University.

Senior Sangjun Hornewer started the scoring at the 13:59 mark with her team-high eighth goal of the season. A pass from junior Cassidy Hoyt slipped past a Viking defender near the top of the box and Hornewer took advantage, blasting it into the right side of the goal.

The score remained 1-0 until the 74th minute when Dziedzinski took a throw-in from junior Morgan Henrichs, turned to her left and scored from the top of the box to give the visitors a 2-0 lead. Dziedzinski also earned the assist when her shot in the 83rd minute was saved but freshman Alyssa Xanos was there to kick in the rebound. Dziedzinski and Xanos each have seven scores on the year.

Lake Forest had a 28-2 advantage in shot attempts in the contest.

The shutout went to sophomore goalkeeper Maggie Kersting, who improved to 5-2-0 with a 1.20 goals against average on the year.

The Foresters are now 10-5-3 overall and they finished the regular season with a Midwest Conference mark of 5-2-2. The victory assured Lake Forest a spot in next weekend's four-team MWC Tournament, which will be played at league champion Knox College. Their seed and opponent has yet to be determined.

Lawrence fell to 9-10-0 overall and 2-7-0 in the conference.
