Freshman Alyssa Xanos assisted on one goal and scored the other in Lake Forest's 2-0 triumph at North Park University Friday night.
Xanos set up fellow freshman Raven Dziedzinski on the game's first goal with 12:22 to play in the opening period. It was the team-high fifth score of the season for Dziedzinski and the second assist for Xanos.
Lake Forest out-shot the home team 12-5 in the first half and sophomore Sandra Greco stopped the Vikings' only shot on goal in the period. Fellow sophomore goalkeeper Altina Rexhepi played the final 45 minutes, making a pair of saves, to finish off the shutout. The Foresters had a 9-5 advantage in shots during the second half.
The visitors were awarded a penalty kick at the 56:44 mark and Xanos converted for her third goal of the year.
The Foresters are now 5-3-1 and North Park 1-5-0 on the season.
Lake Forest will begin Midwest Conference play at home next weekend, hosting Grinnell College on Saturday and Cornell College on Sunday. Both games will start at 11:00 a.m.
