Freshman Iman Shepherd scored her first career goal Sunday in Lake Forest's 2-0 triumph over visiting Saint Mary's College.

Shepherd was just in front of the goal when a pass from the right came in. Her first attempt was stopped by the Saint Mary's goalkeeper but she was able to kick in the rebound to give the home team the lead at the 31:53 mark.

The Foresters had a 10-1 advantage in shots in the opening half but led by just one at the break.

The lead doubled with 15:45 to play when sophomore Julia Larson took an errant pass from the defense and snuck her shot from 25 yards out into the top-right corner of the goal. It was her second score of the season.

The shutout was the second of the year for sophomore goalkeeper Sandra Greco, who improved to 3-2-0.

Lake Forest is now 4-3-1 on the season while the Belles fell to 4-3-0.

The game was the eighth in a 16-day span for the Foresters, who will not be in action again until Friday's 7:00 p.m. game at North Park University.
