Late Comeback Effort Falls Just Short against MSOE

The Foresters scored a pair of goals in the final seven minutes but fell 3-2 to visiting Milwaukee School of Engineering on Saturday.

The team faced a 3-0 deficit after surrendering two goals less than five minutes apart in the first half and a penalty shot with 26 minute to play in the contest. 

Lake Forest finally got on the scoreboard at 83:39 on freshman Raven Dziedzinski's fourth goal of the year. She beat the Raider goalkeeper after taking a chip pass over the defense from senior Sangjun Hornewer.

The Foresters remained aggressive after their first goal and earned a penalty kick less than 100 seconds later. Freshman Alyssa Xanos converted for her second goal of the season but the home team was unable to tie the game in the final 4:43.

Both teams attempts a dozen shots in the contest and are now at the .500 mark for the season, Lake Forest with a 3-3-1 record and MSOE at 2-2-1.

The Foresters will host Saint Mary's College Sunday afternoon at 2:00.
