Lake Forest College women's soccer player Jo Hendriksen was named Midwest Conference Defensive Performer of the Week on Monday for her performance in a pair of games over the weekend.
Hendriksen, a senior defender, assisted on three of the Foresters' four goals in a shutout of visiting Lawrence University on Saturday. She set up scores on corner kicks from each side of the field in the first half and added another assist on a corner kick in the 56th minute. Hendriksen became just the 10th player in program history with as many as three assists in a single game. In addition to her exploits at the offensive end of the field, Hendriksen and the rest of the home team's defense allowed the Vikings to attempt just three shots in the contest.
Lake Forest also played to a 1-1 tie at St. Norbert College on Sunday. The Forester defense limited the Green Knights to 10 shots overall with just three on target.
Hendriksen led the team with five assists this season and finished her career with 19 points on three goals and 13 assists.
