Senior Jo Hendriksen had a pair of assists to help lead the Lake Forest College women's soccer team to a 3-0 victory over visiting Monmouth College on Saturday.

Hendriksen's corner kick from the right side at the 31:57 mark found junior Natalie Dixon near the back post and she kicked in her first goal of the season.

The Foresters outshot their guests 10-4 in the first half and 6-4 in the second but did not add to their lead on the scoreboard until the 85th minute. The Fighting Scots' goalkeeper was able to jump and get a piece Hendriksen's corner kick from the right but the deflection landed at the feet of Lake Forest senior Charlotte Jackson beyond the far post and she sent it in for her first goal of the year.

The third goal of the game came with a little good fortune for the home team. A Monnmouth defender's attempt to clear the ball before Forester sophomore Morgan Henrichs reached it caromed off Henrichs and into the goal with 3:05 on the clock. It was the team-high fifth score of 2018 for Henrichs.

Lake Forest goalkeeper Maggie Kersting made one save in the first half and two in the second to earn her first career victory and shutout.

The Foresters improved to 5-9-0 overall this season and 1-4-0 in Midwest Conference play. Monmouth fell to 7-6-0 overall and 2-3-0 in the league.

Lake Forest will be back in action on Sunday against visiting Knox College. The contest is scheduled to begin at 1:30 p.m.
