Foresters Held Scoreless at Cornell

The Lake Forest College women's soccer team was defeated 2-0 at Cornell College on Sunday.

The home team pulled ahead at the 35:9 mark and doubled its lead at 71:44.

The Foresters out-shot the Rams 9-6 in the first half and 9-4 in the second but were unable to get on the scoreboard.

Lake Forest freshman goalkeeper Maggie Kersting made five saves in her first career start but was unable to hold down Cornell.

The loss left Lake Forest with an overall record of 4-8-0 and Midwest Conference mark of 0-4-0 while the Rams improved to 4-7-1 overall and 3-0-0 in the league.

The Foresters will play their final non-conference game of the season at Carthage College next Saturday. The contest will begin at 1:00 p.m.
