The Forester women's soccer team was defeated 2-0 by Ripon College at home on Sunday.

Lake Forest out-shot the Red Hawks 7-6 in the first half but the visitors scored the only goal of the period at 21:55.

The Foresters also had the advantage in shot in the final 45 minutes, attempting seven to Ripon's five. Once again it was the visitors who came up with the only goal, netting an insurance tally with 6:51 remaining.

The home team finished the game with a 7-3 edge in corner kick opportunities but were unable to get on the scoreboard.

The loss dropped the Foresters' overall record on the season to 4-6-0 and Midwest Conference mark to 0-2-0. It was the first league game of the year for Ripon, which improved to 2-4-1 overall.

Lake Forest will continue its conference schedule in Iowa next weekend, playing at Grinnell College on Saturday and Cornell College on Sunday. Both contests are scheduled to begin at 1:30 p.m.
