Junior Susie Baca scored the only goal in the Lake Forest College women's soccer team's 1-0 victory at Ripon College on Saturday.

Baca was there to kick in the rebound when Forester junior Charlotte Jackson's shot was saves by the Red Hawks' goalkeeper less than 10 minutes into the contest. It was the fourth score of the season for Baca and the fourth assist for Jackson.

Lake Forest had a 9-3 advantage in shots in the first half and a 4-3 edge in the second but was unable to add to its score.

Forester freshman goalkeeper Paige Thiel kept Ripon off the scoreboard, making four saves in her second straight 1-0 victory and fourth shutout of the year.

The Foresters improved to 7-8-2 overall on the season and 5-2-2 in Midwest Conference play. Ripon fell to 10-7-0 overall and 4-5-0 in the league.

Another 1-0 victory, this one by Grinnell College over visiting Monmouth College, prevented Lake Forest from qualifying for the four-team MWC Tournament for the sixth straght season. Saturday's contest, therefore, was the final career game for Forester seniors Shari Jacobson, Kayla Wuest, Sami Troost, Sammy Wilke, Allie Widmer, Mimi Vaintrub, and Caroline Campbell.
