Junior Susie Baca's third goal of the season was all the visitors needed in the Lake Forest College women's soccer team's 1-0 triumph at Illinois College on Saturday.

Baca was in the right place at the right time as an attempted clear by an Illinois College defender came down just in front of the goal. The Lady Blue goalkeeper was unable to hold on to it as she and Baca collided and the ball ended up in the back of the net with 26:53 to play in the contest.

Lake Forest out-shot the home team 11-7 in the first half and attempted 13 shots without allowing any in the final 45 minutes.

Forester freshman goalkeeper Paige Thiel did not face any shots on goal while recording her third shutout of the season.

Lake Forest improved to 6-8-2 overall and 4-2-2 in Midwest Conference play while Illinois College fell to 3-14-0 overall and 1-6-0 in the league.

The Foresters will close out the regular season at Ripon College next Saturday afternoon at 1:00. They will need a victory and help from others in the conference to qualify for the four-team MWC Tournament for the sixth year in a row.
