The Forester women's soccer team was defeated 2-1 in overtime by visiting Monmouth College Sunday afternoon.

Monmouth started the scoring just two minutes into the contest and led 1-0 for most of the first half.

Lake Forest out-shot the Fighting Scots 8-6 in the opening half but were unable to tie the score until the 41st minute. Junior Susie Baca's shot was saved by the Monmouth goalkeper but the rebound went out to fellow junior Kasey Kraus, who placed the ball in the left side of the goal for her second score of the season.

The home team had a 4-1 edge in shots in a scoreless second half. The Foresters attempted one more shot in the overtime period while the Fighting Scots scored the game-winner on their second of the extra frame.

Lake Forest is now 4-8-2 overall this season and 2-2-2 in Midwest Conference play. Monmouth improved to 10-6-0 overall and 5-2-0 in the league.

The Foresters will play their final home game of the year on Wednesday when the team hosts Beloit College. Kickoff is scheduled for 4:00 p.m.
