Freshman goalkeeper Paige Thiel earned her second career shutout as the Lake Forest College women's soccer team played to a 0-0 tie with visiting Knox College in the rain on Saturday.

Both teams had several quality chances to score but Thiel was forced to make just one save.

The Foresters and Prairie Fire evenly split eight shots in the first 45 minutes and the home team had a slight 5-4 advantage in that category in the second half. Lake Forest attempted two more shots in the first 10-minute overtime period and three in the second, putting four of the five on goal. Knox's goalie made nine saves in the contest.

It was the 11th consecutive game in which the Foresters out-shot their opponents.

The tie leaves Lake Forest with an overall record of 4-7-2 and a Midwest Conference mark of 2-1-2 on the season. Knox is now 9-5-1 overall and 4-0-1 in the league.

The Foresters will host Monmouth College Sunday afternoon at 1:00.
