Junior forward Susie Baca was one of three Foresters to score for the first time this season in the Lake Forest College women's soccer team's 6-1 victory over Wisconsin Lutheran College at home on Friday.

Baca's goal at the 40:40 mark made the score 4-0 in favor of the home team. Freshman midfielder Maria Perkkio assisted on the play for her first career point.

The Foresters' first three scores came from freshman midfielder Cassidy Hoyt. She gave the home the early lead by kicking in a cross from junior defender Cath Auger-Morin in the sixth minute, scored again off a pass from senior midfielder Kayla Wuest at 23:17, and then completed the hat trick with an unassisted goal just 56 seconds later. Hoyt now leads the team with four goals on the year.

After the Warriors got on the scoreboard in the 64th minute, Lake Forest regained its four-goal advantage on the first goal of the season by sophomore midfielder Lexi Vargas less than five minutes later. She headed in one of several well-placed corner kicks in the game from sophomore forward Sangjun Hornewer.

Forester sophomore midfielder Emma Byrne closed out the scoring with her first goal of the year at 87:55. She raced past the defender up the left side of the field and tapped the ball past the goalie and into the right side of the goal.

Lake Forest senior goalkeeper Caroline Campbell made three saves in her first career victory. She is in her first season of collegiate soccer after a four-year career on the Forester women's hockey team.

The home team out-shot the Warriors 33-5 in the contest and improved to 2-4-0 on the year. Wisconsin Lutheran is now 1-5-0.

The Foresters will host Concordia University Wisconsin for Parents Day Saturday afternoon at 1:00.
