The Forester women's soccer team hosted and defeated Marian University 2-0 on Wednesday. Senior forward Michelle Greeneway scored both goals to become the first player in program history with 200 career points.

After a scoreless opening period, Greeneway netted her 25th official game-winning goal just three minutes and 24 seconds into the second half. She sent in a corner kick from senior defender Sam Hillis, giving the home team a 1-0 lead. It was the 22nd time Hillis assisted a Greeneway goal in their four seasons at the College.

Greeneway struck again just nine minutes later, kicking in a cross from junior midfielder Nina Perkkio for her team-high 12th goal of the season. The leading scorer in program history, Greeneway now has 86 goals and 28 assists for 200 career points.

Lake Forest attempted 14 shots without allowing one in the first half and out-shot the Sabres 14-1 in the second.

Forester junior goalkeeper Rachel Tenuta made one save in the contest and improved to 3-2-1 on the season. She is now tied-for-second in program history with 32 career victories and the shutout was her 10th in less than three full seasons.

The non-conference victory raised the Foresters' record on the season to 6-2-2 while Marian fell to 3-7-0.

Lake Forest will resume Midwest Conference play in Iowa this weekend, playing at Grinnell College on Saturday and Cornell College on Sunday. Both games will begin at 11:00 a.m.
